Elections '04: No Sonia

Talking to a friend, I told him that it will be pretty suave for Sonia Gandhi to not become PM. The reason being taking the heat out of opposition plans and anyway she does not seem so suited for that. Not exactly a PM material so to say. I do not know whether she also thought similarly but seems to have arrived at same decision with Manmohan Singh to forefront. And he seems much smarter, may be not politically, but regarding how to run the country. Just see the first salvo, Rediff headline at the moment reads, Manmohan against Free Power in AP. Also a good signal for Left to cut the rhetoric and to not try to influence the government. With 40 MP's of Mulayam Singh alongside Congress alliance, the Left's bargaining power seems to have reduced anyway.
